Cities worthwhile visiting

Discover the nice island villages of Murter, Betina, Jezera and Tisno first. Each of them offer a likeable, typical Dalmatian ambiente. Enjoy the culinaric specialties in one of the numerous excellent restaurants.

You will reach Vodice via well-built roads in less than 20 minutes driving. Thanks to its attractive location Vodice developed to a popular tourist town. A historic-Roman impression hides in the numerous narrow alleys. Along the waterfront promenade palm trees and typical Mediterranian vegetation add to the perfect holiday feeling. In the old town there is numerous restaurants and pubs waiting for their guest. The little market offers fresh fish as well as fruits and vegetables directly harvested from local fields.

Šibenik, reachable by car in half-an hour, is the pearl of the Croatian Adriatic. Sibenik is located on the mouth of river Krka, one of the most picturesque parts of of the Adriatic coast line. The oldest Croatian city on the Adriatic Sea raises thanks to its special location right at the wide bay of Krka. On the Norhtern slope of the bay Sibenik is circled by its three fortresses St. Michael, St. Johann and Subiceva.

 

In the old town stone houses huddle against each other, alleys winding in between, with many steps and curved passages. Little squares and lots of cultural-historic momuments witness the rich past of this town. Numerous restaurants and a varied entertainment program, the "International Child Festival" and "The Night of Dalmatian Chansons" named as highlights, complete the touristic range of Sibenik.

Zadar, less than an hour away from Murter, is a historic Croatian city. Zadar has almost 80.000 inhabitants and offers the perfect combination of sightseeing and culture, beach and recreation.

 

The key element and absolute highlight is its lively old town complex, situated on a peninsula separated from the new districts. A walk though the old town comes close to a time travel though the different eras of its 3000-year old history. Remains of Roman structures, ancient city walls and gates as well as the modern sights on the Northern part of the peninsula are just a few stations during your visit to this open-air museum.
